Emil Cristhian Vega Ponce, an Ecuadorian national, holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Technical University of Manabí, a Master’s in Agricultural Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources from the University of Concepción (Chile), and a Ph. D. in Water Resources from the National Agrarian University La Molina (Peru). He currently serves as a professor in the Agricultural Engineering and Geospatial Technologies programs at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the Technical University of Manabí, where he teaches Irrigation Engineering I, Applied Computing I, and Fundamentals of Programming, respectively. He is a member of the MASASAP inter-university irrigation network and the Agriculture and Geomatics 4.0 FIA research group, through which he has participated in innovation competitions in the field of smart agriculture. He has contributed to scientific publications in the field of irrigation, with presentations at various national and international academic events, has reviewed articles for scientific journals, and has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate theses.
