Improve the nutrition of boys and girls of Yukpa in Colombia

With the purpose of strengthening food security among rural and indigenous communities, Agrosavia, under the leadership of Ph.D. researcher Adriana Tofiño Rivera from the Motilonia Research Center, in coordination with the Umata Office of the municipality of Becerril, delivered an important package of seeds to the Yukpa indigenous community this Monday.
The following were distributed:
175 kg of biofortified red bean variety 43
40 kg of beans adapted to the dry
CaribbeanThese seeds come from the Kolfaci project and aim to improve the nutrition of the Yukpa population, especially their children, who are at a key stage of psychomotor development.
This nutritious legume is rich in iron and zinc, essential minerals for the physical and intellectual development of children.
