Holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Pelotas (1996), a Master’s degree in Agronomy from the same institution (1999), and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Genetics from São Paulo State University (UNESP) Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2003). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Wageningen University (The Netherlands) in 2008–2009, focusing on association mapping.
Currently, she is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) and a collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Agronomy (PPGA), with a concentration in Plant Breeding, at the Federal University of Pelotas.
Her career is marked by extensive experience in the field of Plant Genetic Resources, with research primarily focused on plant genetics, plant breeding, and molecular biology.
